About Canadian Automotive and Trucking Institute - Cambridge

The Canadian Automotive & Trucking Institute (CATI) is a private career college in southern Ontario, offering career-specific training for the automotive and transportation industries. CATI is a leader in customized programs tuned to the needs of adult learners. We also offer industry-specific training for students wishing to re-enter the workforce.

Founded by Paul Fisher as part of his own rehabilitation following a work-related injury, Paul could not find a school where he could transfer his wealth of automotive knowledge and experience into other opportunities within the automotive field. CATI would become the first private career college in Ontario to offer diploma programs in automotive and transportation career training.

Diploma programs include Automotive Technology, Transportation Operations Specialist, and Advanced Automotive Service Adviser.  

Please note that CATI does not offer any driver training programs.

    CATI’s Automotive Technology program will give you the skills you need to turn your passion for cars into a steady, rewarding career. With a graduate employment rate of over 95%, CATI’s graduates have gone on to apprenticeships in some of the most successful automotive repair and service facilities in the province. During our intensive 39-week program, we’ll provide you with comprehensive training on all aspects of automotive repair and service. From brake systems to differentials, from transmissions systems to electrical systems, from heating and air conditioning to fuel injections systems, we’ll show you everything you need to be a successful Automotive Technician! In addition to learning the nuts and bolts of automotive repair & service, we’ll train you on personal & workplace safety, professional protocol, performance standards, effective communication skills, and problem solving.

    Transportation Operation Specialist Diploma
    Whether you are considering a new career, just starting out, or looking to take your industry experience in a new direction, training in the transportation operations will provide you with loads of career opportunities in a fast-paced, knowledge-driven field. Our 17 weeks of classroom training will help you develop the skills needed by Dispatchers, Safety Administrators, Log Auditors, Fleet Managers, Maintenance Administrators and Driver Managers in the Canadian transportation industry.
